Special Permission for Residence

Those who are qualified to the reasons for deportation including illegal stay (overstay) shall appear or be kept under restraint to take the procedure for deportation.

In this procedure for deportation, if foreigners seek special permission to remain in Japan, they may be granted residence permission specially after check by immigration control officers, examination by immigration bureau, and oral hearing by special inquiry officer, and finally at the discretion of Minister of Justice.
